Kat Jones' interview with Morgan Fitzsimons uncut
So I locked Morgan in a small room with no food or water and a small lamp that I couldn't quite get to point at her and asked her some questions.
Kat: Who is your favourite artist?
Morgan: Hmm ... I like quite a few so it’s not so easy ... ooo ... Jim Fitzpatrick I think. If I have to pick one I pick him.
Kat: Do you like cheese?
Morgan: Cheese to eat? I like cheese that you eat. Knowing you Katherine I am aware there are other forms of cheese.
Kat: Charming
Morgan: I didn't know the word was in your vocabulary.
Kat: What, cheese?
Morgan: No, charming.
Kat: Lets get on with it shall we.
Kat: Which artist or author has been your biggest inspiration over the years?
Morgan: That's a difficult one. There are several.
Kat: Care to share names?
Morgan: Jim Fitzpatrick, Alphonse Mucha and Rembrandt. I love Rembrandt. I could never paint like that. I love the detail in Leonardo Da Vinci's work. And writing .. the Celtic legends, the Mabinogion, Mallory, Tennyson's poems like the Lady of Shalott all inspired me.
Kat: What is your favourite type of cheese?
Morgan: umm ... Cheshire and brie
Kat: Was it too much Cheshire that gave you the idea to write about a futuristic Arthur that could regenerate by throwing himself at a giant pin wheel?
Morgan: No. Cheese doesn't inspire me.
Kat: What is your favourite Character in the Timeweavers and why?
Morgan: I have two. Lance Hunter and Morgan because they were not perfect and they had to become something more. They had a past they had to change. I like characters that are human with all the flaws of humanity and yet they aspire to be something greater. How's that for cheese?
Kat: Not bad but I prefer cheddar.
Kat: Did you ever consider making it a hamster wheel with Sir Hamalot the Hamster and his gerbil knights?
Morgan: No. I am not into totally silly humor.
Kat: What are you trying to say?
Morgan: I like humor with a hint of sarcasm and wit. I am not into slapstick and custard pie throwing. I prefer humor in the situation which lets face it you do too.
Kat: No I just laugh at everything. So do you find my particular brand of sarcasm and randomness distasteful?
Morgan: You can go too far but on the whole I find you amusing?
Kat: Are you laughing with me or at me? Don't answer that.
Morgan: Both I think.
Kat: I said don't answer that.
Kat: Do you prefer painting or writing?
Morgan: I suppose, marginally, painting but I like doing both. When I am painting I like painting best and when I am writing I like writing best.
Kat: Did you like working with me?
Morgan: Surprisingly yes, though I did have to wear armour plating.
Kat: What is your favourite subject to paint?
Morgan: To paint?
Kat: Uh yeah.
Morgan: Tigers, people and fantasy where you can let your imagination go.
Kat: Do you like bananas?
Morgan: Bananas? Fruit? Yes, if you're eating them.
Kat: What else would you do with them?
Morgan: I don't like to slip on them. I prefer tangerines.
Kat: When you are just not in the mood, what inspires you to be creative?
Morgan: Music.
Kat: Do you like dancing bananas?
Morgan: No.
Kat: You have two more books about to be published, the Alkara Keepers and the Lord of the Glades, which one did you enjoy writing the most and why?
Morgan: Alkara Keepers.
Kat: And why?
Morgan: I like the interaction between the characters and how it developed.
Kat: Did you enjoy the interview?
Morgan: That depends on what you write.
Kat: Everything, I'm not editing it.
Morgan: Oh dear
Well that's all folks. We will leave Morgan to recover with a hot water bottle and some pain killers and I might be back with Morgan's interview with Kat Jones, the revenge.
